The Energy Blueprint 2005-2025 was developed to secure a sustainable energy supply; under the 'Optimising Energy Management' scenario, the projected primary energy supply in 2025 shows Renewable Energy (RE) playing an increasingly important role, particularly geothermal and bio-fuels. The potential for geothermal is large; the current policy objective is to expand geothermal to 5% of total energy supply by 2025. The overall share of RE is projected to grow from the current 4.3% to 17% in 2025.
